This medal was offered as a souvenir to ticket holders for a lottery in 1736. The prize was a huge silver wine cooler, and all proceeds went towards rebuilding Westminster Bridge. The reverse of the medal shows Queen Caroline watering palm trees, a symbol for the ‘green shoots’ of knowledge. Cat. 188
