Writer and broadcaster John McCarthy talks to exhibition curator Dr Sophie Gordon about the route taken by the Prince of Wales in 1862, and how the natural, urban and political landscapes of the Middle East have changed over 150 years.

Drawing on Francis Bedford's photographs taken on the tour, this conversation addresses why these images captured the public imagination at the time and how the dramatic imagery of conflict as well as of the iconic architectural wonders of the region continue to have such a powerful impact today.
