Siberian amethysts are famous for their intense purple body colour. This stone is mounted as a pendant with a diamond-set silver bow in a style consistent with the jewellery produced in the workshop of Carl Fabergé’s workmaster Albert Holmström (1826–1925).

Given to the Princess of Wales, later Queen Mary, by Emperor Nicholas II and Empress Alexandra Feodorovna, 1909
