Igor' Emanuilovich Grabar (1874-1960)

Grabar’s career as an artist, art historian and government advisor spanned both the Imperial and Soviet eras. This painting celebrates the Russian landscape and is influenced by French Impressionism. It was painted just months before German tanks entered the Soviet Union.
