Worn for the Service of Thanksgiving for the Silver Jubilee at Paul’s Cathedral, 7 June 1977, marking the twenty-fifth anniversary of The Queen’s accession. Hardy Amies was renowned for his impeccably elegant tailoring and this ensemble, in a striking shade of pink, was complemented by Simone Mirman’s inventive hat, applied with stylised flowerheads which hang freely from 803 silk stems.
