A folio from a small sketchbook or pattern book. On the recto: The female figure of Diana, standing profile left, two other women at her feet. The drawing derives from a design by Parmigianino, and the design is also seen in an etching inscribed 'F.P.' (not in Bartsch) and in numerous other copies, including RCIN 991341v.
On the verso: The winged figure of Virtue, her arm raised over the fallen figure of Vice. The drawing derives from a design by Parmigianino: the design is also seen in an etching inscribed 'F.P.' (Bartsch XVI, p. 24, no. 17) and in numerous other copies, including RCIN 991341r.Provenance
