A drawing of a hilly landscape with a dead tree in the foreground, on the right of which are two travellers. In the centre of the composition are three trees, with buildings on a hill in the middle distance, right, and a town beyond on the left.
In the British Museum is a drawing (inv. no. 1857,1114.30), identical in everything except the figures, which is engraved in reverse by Bartolozzi (Calabi and de Vesme, 2485).Provenance
Probably acquired in 1762 by George III from the collection of Joseph Smith, British Consul in Venice
