An offset of a drawing by Federico Zuccaro after a portion of Correggio’s fresco in the cupola of the Parma Cathedral. Inscribed in red and black at lower right ‘Z’.
This drawing is a counterproof of a drawing in the British Museum (2004,0729.6), which copies the parapet frieze with four apostles below the Correggio's Assumption of the Virgin in the dome of Parma cathedral (c.1524-30). Federico was in Parma c.1607-8 where he admired works by Correggio and produced a number of drawings after his works. Other drawings in the Royal Collection include RCINs 990740, 990743, 990744, 900729, 901729, 903512.
