A drawing after Michelangelo’s figure of the Ignudo to the left above Joel in the Sistine Chapel.
The drawing is one of a set of fourteen (RCIN 990632-990645), twelve of which copy ignudi on the Sistine Ceiling and were reproduced in engravings by Adamo Scultori (Adamo Ghisi); this drawing corresponds with the print inscribed ‘12’ (Bartsch 38). The drawings may be by Adamo's father Giovanni Battista Scultori: see RCIN 990634 for more details.Provenance
