After? Parmigianino (Parma 1503-Casalmaggiore 1540)
Temperance 1500 - 1600
-
A drawing of a standing female figure, the personification of Temperance, holding a drinking vessel in her right hand. This drawing is mounted with three copies after Parmigianino (990558-60) and it may too be a copy after that artist, though no original or other version is known, and the drawing is too badly damaged to be able to judge its style.
Provenance
Presumably in the Royal Collection by 1800, but not identifiable in George III’s Inventory A.
