School of Baccio Bandinelli (1493-1560)
A nude youth carrying another c.1525-50
-
A drawing of two nude youths, one carrying the other. Presumably a copy by a pupil.
Provenance
Probably one of the drawings listed in George III’s Inventory A, c.1770, p. 17 (an inserted sheet that pre-dates the rest of the inventory), ‘Diversi Maestri Antichi’, Tom. V, ‘13 by Baccio Bandinelli.’ This is probably the same group of 13 drawings listed on p. 47 (c.1800-20), ‘Michael Angelo, Fra: Bartolomeo, And: del Sarto &[c]’, Tom. III, ‘17 to 29 … Various Studys of Baccio Bandinello.’
