Recto: A leaf from a sketch book which depicts a young man in conversation with two old men and a group of women. On the left hand edge of the sheet are several half length figures. These are smaller in scale than the central group. Both groups of figures have been identified as copies after Andrea del Sarto's History of Joseph in the Pitti Palace in Florence (no. 88). The drawing is inscribed at lower centre: Andreo del Sarto.
Verso: Slight sketches for Abraham sacrificing Isaac. The drawing is inscribed at lower left: JeromProvenance
