-
A drawing of a young woman, half-length, in Florentine dress of the early sixteenth century.
The old attribution was to Andrea del Sarto. F. Antal (recorded in Popham 1949) thought it showed Rosso Fiorentino's touch, by comparison with the drawing in the Uffizi (6499) of Old men lamenting over a skeleton, engraved by Agostino Veneziano in 1518. The drawing was subsequently attributed to Baccio Bandinelli by J. Gere and M. Hirst (recorded in Blunt 1971). -
