A drawing of three men in classical costume walking past a building; other figures behind and a cupid flying above. Inscribed on the verso Sig.r Gio.
What may be Parmigianino's original drawing, from which this was copied before that sheet was damaged, is in the Fogg Museum (inv. 139; see Popham, Drawings of Parmigianino, no. 52). Another copy, corresponding more closely to the Windsor drawing, was engraved in facsimile by F. Rosaspina, when in the collection of the brothers Giovanni Angelo and Gabriele Brunetti at Bologna (L. Inig, Celeberrimi Francisci Mazzola ... Graphides, Bologna 1788; Weigel 5825).Provenance
Presumably in the Royal Collection by 1800, but not identifiable in George III's Inventory A.
