A drawing of various groups of monks supported on banks of clouds as they look up towards a vision of the figure of Faith flanked by putti holding martyrs' palms. In the centre of the circular composition a monk holds a palm and looks heavenwards. The old mount had an ascription to Pietro Locatelli.

Probably acquired by George III in 1762 as part of the collection of Cardinal Alessandro Albani; first recorded in a Royal Collection inventory of c.1800-1820
