The head of a boy 1575 - 1625
Pen and ink | 22.3 x 17.9 cm (sheet of paper) | RCIN 990248
-
A drawing of the head of a boy, in left profile. The drawing had no traditional attribution; Blunt (in B(M)) placed it merely as Bolognese of the early seventeenth century, but the formal and showy penwork is characteristic of Passarotti and his followers.
Provenance
Presumably in the Royal Collection by 1800, but not identifiable in George III's Inventory A.
