A prince on horseback with his retinue c.1550-1600

Description

A drawing of an armed figure on horseback, accompanied by a mounted retinue, being met by a youth holding a sword and drapery. Formerly attributed to Bernardo Castello; Popham (in P&W) claimed that 'the style appears indistinguishable from that of drawings always associated with Cambiaso'; while probably not by Cambiaso it is certainly Genoese.
