A drawing of Vulcan sitting at his anvil with an arrow held aloft in his left hand. He appears to be restraining Cupid who gestures impatiently towards the arrow that the blacksmith has made for him. Venus stands on the right, gesturing with her right hand.
The figure of Venus is close to Veronese in type.Provenance
Probably acquired in 1762 by George III from the collection of Joseph Smith, British Consul in Venice
