A watercolour showing a view of trees in the forest near Felagie. Fir trees are shown across the foreground, with Highland hills shown behind through gaps between the trees. Inscribed on RCIN 981651.n verso: Felagie May 26 1881. While staying at Balmoral Queen Victoria made many expeditions to local beauty spots. On 26 May 1881, the Queen drove to Aberarder with her granddaughter Princess Elizabeth of Hesse and by Rhine. In her journal entry of that day, Queen Victoria describes how they "took our tea in the wood. Then, I sketched".
