A post is shown to the right and hills and trees are shown in the background. Inscribed lower right: Aldershot July. 17th /56 AE fecit.
On 16 July 1856 Albert Edward, Prince of Wales, visited the military camp at Aldershot with his family to watch military manoeuvres. They stayed in the Royal Pavilion overnight inspecting the camp and watching field exercises the next day. -
