A historical scene dated 1832
-
A pencil drawing showing an unidentified historical scene. Two boys are shown in the foreground, embracing and surrounded by male figures. A crown is shown on a plinth to the right. The male figure to the right, possibly a king, is wearing an ermine cloak and the figure to the left, possibly St. Jerome is wearing a cardinal's hat. A dog, or possibly St. Jerome's lion, is shown seated to the lower left. A single pencil line border is shown around the scene.
Inscribed lower left: Albert 1832.
This drawing is housed in an album of drawings Prince Albert. For other items in the volume see Prince Albert's Scrapbook. -
