A watercolour showing a view of the Coquelinot Rock. The rocky islets are shown rising out of the sea in the foreground. Inscribed below: Coquelinot Rock - Aug: 9. 1854. - On 8 August 1854 Queen Victoria and her family sailed to Alderney Island from Osborne on the Royal Yacht, Victoria & Albert. They anchored overnight in Bray Bay. On 9 August 1854 The Royal Family sailed around the island, passing Coquelinot Rock. In her journal entry of that day, Queen Victoria describes the rock as "very curious".
