A watercolour showing an illustration of Wordsworth's poem To the Same Flower. A maiden is shown full-length, standing and facing forward. She is wearing a white and green dress trimmed with daisies, and a wreath of daisies in her hair. Inscribed lower right: Helena May 24 1861.
A line from the poem is inscribed on a separate sheet below: "Or sprightly maiden, of Love's court"
Queen Victoria's children often made cards and drawings for their parents as gifts on important dates, such as this watercolour by Princess Helena for her mother's birthday on 24 May 1861.
