A watercolour showing St. Cecilia surrounded by angels. She is shown full-length, standing and facing left. She is playing an organ and looking at an open book of sheet music being held by an angel to the left. Two putti are shown to the lower left, one playing a trumpet and the other holding another open music book. A group of angels is shown behind to the right, all playing instruments. A banner is shown to the lower right, inscribed: ALICE FECIT ET INVT.
The whole is shown within a frame with a heraldic shield shown at each bottom corner.
This watercolour was painted by Princess Alice to commemorate her engagement to Prince Louis of Hesse on 30 April 1861.
