Tatoi Palace was the summer residence of the Empress Frederick's daughter Princess Sophia, then Crown Princess of Greece. Princess Maria of Greece and Denmark, who was known in the family as Minny or Greek Minnie to stop confusion with her aunt Empress Marie Feodorovna, was the younger sister of Princess Sophia's husband King Constantine I.
