A watercolour showing a view of military manoeuvres at Aldershot Camp. Two lines of red, depicting soldiers in uniform, are shown in a valley in the foreground. Tents are shown behind to the left and fields are shown in the background. Inscribed below mounted sheet: July 17. 1856. On 16 July 1856 Queen Victoria and her family visited the military camp at Aldershot to watch military manoeuvres. They stayed in the Royal Pavilion overnight inspecting the camp and watching field exercises the next day.
