Inscribed below pasted down sheet: The Kirk - Crathie. Inscribed lower right: VR del. Balmoral. Aug: 21 - 1849. While staying in Balmoral, Queen Victoria made many expeditions to local beauty spots. Queen Victoria describes in her journal entry of 21 August 1849 how she "sketched till past 12".
