A watercolour showing the breakwater at Holyhead, Wales. The breakwater is shown from the sea, against a setting sky. Inscribed below pasted down sheet: New Breakwater Holyhead. Inscribed lower right: VR del Sept: 4. 1853 On board the V. & Albert. Queen Victoria and her family visited Ireland from 29 August to 3 September 1853. On their way back they anchored at Holyhead, staying on the Royal Yacht, Victoria & Albert, over night.
