A watercolour showing Antwerp Cathedral. The cathedral is shown behind a row of trees and houses. Inscribed below pasted down sheet: Antwerp Cathedral. Aug: 12 1852. Inscribed lower right: VR del on board the V.& A. Aug: 12. 1852. On 10 August 1852, Queen Victoria set sail from Osborne to Belgium on the Royal Yacht, Victoria & Albert. They arrived at Antwerp on 11 August 1852, after sailing up the River Schelde and making anchor over night. In her journal entry of 12 August 1852, Queen Victoria describes how "We got up early & I made a sketch of the Cathedral".
