Inscribed below pasted down sheet: Loch Muick - from the sitting room window at Alltna Guithasaich [sic] Shiel. Inscribed lower right: VR. del. Oct: 2. 1850 While staying at Balmoral, Queen Victoria made many expeditions to local beauty spots. On 2 October 1850, the Queen and her husband, Prince Albert, walked up Glen Allt-na-Giubhsaich and visited the shiel there for the first time.
