A watercolour showing a view of the Pleasure Ground at Windsor Castle. Elm trees are shown either side of a path, which is shown cutting through a lawn. Inscribed below pasted down sheet: Elm Trees in the Pleasure Ground, Windsor Castle. Inscribed lower right: VR. del. Oct: 18 & 19. 1849. Queen Victoria walked through the Pleasure Ground at Windsor Castle on 18 October 1849 with her husband, Prince Albert. In her journal entry of 19 October 1849, the Queen describes how she "left [Prince Albert] to continue my sketch" while he worked on alterations to the gardens.
