A watercolour with touches of bodycolour showing a view of the islands of Herm, Jethou and Sark. The islands are shown across the page, with the sea shown in the foreground. Inscribed below: The Isles of Herme [sic] Jethou & Sercq VR del on board the V.& A. - [?lying] approach St. Pierre - Guernsey - Aug: 24. 1846. On 18 August 1846, Queen Victoria sailed from Osborne House to Dorset with her husband, Prince Albert and some of their children. On 23 August 1846, the Royal Family sailed from Plymouth to Guernsey, anchoring off the island overnight. On 24 August 1846, the Royal family toured the local area before sailing back to the Isle of Wight that evening.
