A watercolour showing a view of Bardsey Island, Wales. The sea is shown in the foreground, with the island rising up behind. A light house is shown on the island, to the right. Inscribed below mounted sheet: Bratshy [sic] Island - Carnnervonshore [sic] - VR del on board the V. & A. Aug: 15 - 1847. Queen Victoria visited Scotland with her family during August and September 1847, touring the Western Isles and then staying at Ardverikie Shooting-Lodge. The Queen left Osborne House with Prince Albert and their two eldest children on 11 August 1847 and sailed up the West coast of England and around Wales to Scotland, passing Caernarvonshire on 15 August 1847, before arriving at Ardverikie on 21 August 1847.
