A watercolour showing a view of Loch Muick from a path below the Glas-allt-Falls. The loch is shown in the lower foreground, with hills rising up from its banks behind. Inscribed lower left: Loch Muick Oct: 22. 1879 from path to Glassalt Falls. Queen Victoria stayed at the Glas-allt-Shiel on the banks of Loch Muick from 20 to 24 October 1879. On 22 October 1879, the Queen walked to the Glas-allt-Falls with her daughter Princess Beatrice. In her journal entry of that day, Queen Victoria describes how she "Rested several times, on the way up & coming down, sat on a stone on the path, & made a little sketch".
