A watercolour showing a view a Highland landscape near Loch Callater. The loch is shown in the lower foreground, with hills shown rising up from its banks. Inscribed lower right: Loch Callater Sept: 26 1879. While staying at Balmoral Queen Victoria made many expeditions to local beauty spots. On 26 September 1879 the Queen visited Loch Callater with her daughter Princess Beatrice and daughter-in-law Princess Louise Margaret of Prussia.
