A watercolour showing a view of the Corriemulzie from Allanaquoich. A heather-covered hill is shown in the foreground to the right, with a further hill shown behind to the left. Inscribed lower left: Corrie Mulzie f[ro]m Allan Quoich [sic] - Nov: 4. 1875. While staying at Balmoral Queen Victoria made many expeditions to local beauty spots. On 4 November 1875 the Queen visited the Linn of Quoich with her daughter Princess Beatrice. In her journal entry of that day, Queen Victoria describes how they "Had our luncheon in the carriage, just outside Allanquoich [sic], the horses being taken out, & I sketched the view towards Corriemulzie, while the potatoes were being boiled & some Scotch Broth heated up, which, with same cold meat made a capital luncheon".
