A watercolour showing a view of Glen Fyne. The glen is shown in the foreground, with gently sloping hills on either side. Inscribed below: Glen Fyne [?Lodge] f[ro]m Head of Loch Fyne Sept: 27. 1875. Queen Victoria stayed at Inverary Castle from 22 to 29 September 1875 as a guest of the Duke of Argyll, the father of her son-in-law the Marquess of Lorne. The Queen's daughter Princess Louise had married the Marquess of Lorne on 21 March 1871. On 27 September 1875 Queen Victoria visited Glen Fyne with her daughters, Princess Louise and Princess Beatrice, and the Marquess of Lorne.
