A watercolour showing a view of Loch Muick. The loch is shown in the foreground to the right, with a path shown along the banks to the left. Hills are shown in the background, against a setting sky. Inscribed lower left: Oct: 27- 74 - Loch Muick. Queen Victoria stayed at the Glas-allt-Shiel from 26 to 30 October 1874. On 27 October 1874 the Queen walked along the banks of nearby Loch Muick. In her journal entry of that day, Queen Victoria describes how she walked "a little way along the Loch, which was a deep blue, & sketched".
