A watercolour showing a view of a Highland landscape near the Corrour Bothy. Fir trees are shown in the foreground, with hills shown behind. Inscribed below mounted sheet: Near Carour [sic] Oct 30 1867. While staying at Balmoral Queen Victoria made many visits to local beauty spots. On 30 October 1867 the Queen visited the Corrour Bothy with her youngest daughter Princess Beatrice. In her journal entry of that day, Queen Victoria describes how on arriving at the house they "Had our luncheon & sketched. The lights were most beautiful".
