A watercolour showing a view of Glen Muick . The loch is shown to the lower left, surrounded by snow-covered hills. Trees are shown poking through the snow to the lower right. Inscribed lower left: Oct: 26 1869. Queen Victoria stayed at the Glas-allt-Shiel near Loch Muick from 25 to 27 October 1869. In her journal entry of 26 October 1869 she records taking a short walk with her daughter Princess Beatrice and describes how "The hills looked splendid, & so high, in their white garb".
