A watercolour showing a view of a Highland landscape, possibly near Loch Muick. A hill is shown in the foreground, gently sloping down from the left. Further hills are shown behind and in the background. Inscribed lower left: f[ro]m the head of [illegible word] - Oct: 2. 1868. While staying at Balmoral Queen Victoria made many expeditions to local beauty spots. On 2 October 1868 the Queen visited the Glas-allt-Shiel by Loch Muick with two of her children.
