Trees are shown behind and parkland is shown in the background. Inscribed above mounted sheet: From Sandpit Gate Lodge May 15. 186[8] Queen Victoria describes in her journal entry of 15 May 1868, how she "drove with Baby [Princess Beatrice] & Leopold to Sandpit Gate, where we sat & took tea, & I sketched. It was most lovely, the foliage so fine".
