A watercolour showing a view of the River Schelde from the Royal Yacht Victoria & Albert. The river is shown in the foreground, with a sailing boat shown on the water to the left. The riverbank is shown in the background, lined with trees. A tower is shown poking above the trees to the right. Inscribed below mounted sheet: In the Scheld [sic] Aug: 9. 1865. Queen Victoria visited Coburg for the unveiling of the Prince Consort's memorial statue on 26 August 1865, staying at the Rosenau from 11 August to 5 September 1865. The Royal Family left Osborne on the Royal Yacht, Victoria & Albert, on 8 August 1865 and arrived at Antwerp the next day. From there the Queen and her family continued their journey to Coburg by train.
