Verso: first half of RCIN 980040.bh Queen Victoria visited Loch Tay on 3 October 1866 while staying as a guest of the Duchess of Atholl at Dunkeld. The Queen stayed at Dunkeld from 1 to 6 Oct 1866. In her journal entry of 3 October 1866, Queen Victoria records how the royal party stopped for Luncheon at Loch Tay and remained sketching, describing how the "lake with its richly wooded banks looked most lovely".
