Inscribed lower left: Corrie Buie Sept: 27. 64. Inscribed below pasted down sheet: In the Corrie Buidh - looking towards the mount. Sept: 27. 1864 - While staying at Balmoral, Queen Victoria made many expeditions to local beauty spots. On 27 September 1864, the Queen drove to the Corrie Buie with two of her younger daughters. Queen Victoria records the visit in her journal entry of that day. She describes how, on arriving at Corrie Buie, they "got out & sketched, till it was getting dark".
