Inscribed lower left: From glen Beg [?High road] May 29 1867. Inscribed below pasted down sheet: From glen Beg - looking towards Balmoral - May - 29. 1867. While staying at Balmoral, Queen Victoria made many expeditions to local beauty spots. On 29 May 1867, the Queen drove around Glen Beg with her fourth daughter, Princess Louise. Queen Victoria records the drive in her journal entry of that day, describing how they "sketched the glorious view before us".
