A watercolour showing the remains of Clunie Castle on it's island in Loch Clunie. The castle is shown surrounded by trees with it's reflection shown in the loch below. The banks of the loch can be seen in the background. Inscribed lower left: Loch Clunie near Dunkeld - Oct: 5. 1866. Inscribed below pasted down sheet: Loch Clunie near Dunkeld. Oct: 5. 1865. Queen Victoria made a visit from Balmoral to Dunkeld from 1 to 6 October 1866. On 5 October 1866, the Queen made an expedition to Loch Ordie with her fourth daughter, Princess Louise, and their host the Duchess of Atholl, stopping at Loch Clunie on the way.
