Queen Victoria visited Coburg for the unveiling of the Prince Consort's memorial statue on 26 August 1865, staying at the Rosenau from 11 August to 5 September 1865. During her stay the Queen made at least four visits to Mönchröden, where she stayed sketching with her fourth daughter, Princess Louise. -
