A watercolour showing a view of the River Medina from the Whippingham Rectory, Isle of Wight. Trees are shown in the foreground, with the river shown behind, snaking off to the lower right. Hills are shown in the background. Inscribed below mounted sheet: Looking at the Medina from Whippingham Rectory Aug: 15. 1864. On 15 August 1864 Queen Victoria spent nearly two hours sketching from the Whippingham Rectory with her daughters Princess Alice and Princess Helena.
