Further trees are shown behind and a bridge is shown over the river to the left. The Cheviot Hills are shown in the background. Inscribed below mounted sheet: View from my window at Floors - Aug: - 1867 - Queen Victoria stayed at Floors Castle from 21 to 23 August 1867, as a guest of the Duchess of Rosburgh. In her journal entry of 21 August 1867, Queen Victoria describes how "The view from the windows [was] beautiful the distant range of Cheviots with a great deal of wood, Kelso surrounded by woods, the bridge with the Tweed flowing beneath & in front natural grass terraces which go down to it".
